Charles K. (Chuck) Grochmal (1952 - 1990)

huck Grochmal was one of the pioneer journalists who attempted to educate everyone about AIDS, the ways to prevent becoming infected and, if infected, how to live with it. He also gave special attention to poverty. His column in Xtra was very popular, and he was recognized as an important
AIDS educator.
Chuck was also a member of the Steering Committee of AIDS ACTION NOW!.
In Ottawa, on April 23, 1990, Chuck received the Fourth Annual
Goodwin’s Award
for Excellence in Alternative Journalism, posthumously.
In 1990, February 3th Charles K. (Chuck) Grochmal dies of AIDS at Casey House.
